Trouble in APC as Audu's runningmate claims he is governor-elect

A mild drama is currently going on in Kogi State as the running mate to the late APC governorship candidate Prince Audu Abubakar, James Falake wrote to INEC claiming he is the governor-elect of Kogi State. In a letter he sent to the INEC he argued that he was duly elected the deputy governor of
Kogi Sate while also arguing that INEC lacks the power to declare the election inconclusive according to  Section 187 of the 1999 Constitution, he was duly elected as deputy governor of Kogi State.

Speaking on Falake said: “In law and logic, no new candidate can inherit or be a beneficiary of the votes already cast, counted and declared by INEC before that candidate was nominated and purportedly sponsored,”  The letter written through Wole Olanipekun, counsel to Falake he states that: “Assuming without conceding that INEC is even right to order a supplementary election, the votes already cast, counted and declared on Saturday, 25th November 2015, were votes for the joint constitutional ticket of Prince Abubakar Audu and our client.
“Therefore, no new or ‘supplementary’ candidate can hijack, aggregate, appropriate or inherit the said votes.”
As it stands now there might a face off in the All Progressives Congress since the party has already called for a new primary election.
More details later....
