Sokoto State govt spent N44 Million on JAMB forms for Sokoto students



The Sokoto State government has spent N44 Million on the purchase of JAMB forms for 8000
students of Sokoto State who are preparing to sit for the JAMB examination. In a statement released by the State government through spokesman to the Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Mallam Imam Imam reads in part:


 ''The governor will continue to sponsor sokoto indegenes who seek to study outside the shores of Nigeria. The Governor also promised to assist Sokoto State students with exceptional intellect.

The governor further pledged to take over the four Computer Based Examination Centres (CBT) under construction by the Federal Government under the defunct SURE-P intervention programme.

According to him, the centres located in Gwadabawa, Wamakko and Tambuwal LGAs, will have a combined capacity of 1,400 computers and will be put to use during the 2016 nationwide JAMB examination. The Governor made the revelations while attending the graduation ceremony of over 230 Sokoto State students that graduated from the Islamic University in Uganda.
