Court asks EFCC to pay Uche Secondus N10M for unlawful detention




Justice James Tsoho of an Abuja federal high court Friday declared the arrest and detention of Uche
Secondus, former Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as illegal and he was awarded the sum of N10 million as damages. Uche Secondus took EFCC to court for violating his fundamental human rights.
Justice Tsho who presided over the case declared his arrest and detention  was illegal‎ and awarded a N10 million damage against the EFCC.
Justice Tsoho while delivering judgement said “The first prayer of the applicant is hereby granted and the sum ‎of N10million damages is hereby awarded against the respondent (EFCC)”.

Uche Secondus was arrested and detained by the EFCC for allegedly receiving car gifts illegally from Jide Omokiri, a business man
