INEC denies knowledge of printing of electoral materials in Rivers State

Few days ago, a group of persons were arrested in Port Harcourt for allegedly printing electoral materials ahead of the scheduled rerun election in Rivers State. The said persons were arrested while printing the electoral materials, a contract given to them by an APC Chieftain in Rivers State, Emma Chinda, former commissioner under Rotimi Amaechi. Items recovered during the raid on their
facility include: INEC's certified true copy of result sheets as well as INEC's serial number booklet, the recovered materials suggested to many that INEC may have been aware of the illegal activity.
However, INEC has debunked the widespread claims and issued a statement in that regards. In the statement, INEC "states categorically that it has no knowledge whatsoever of this reported printing and did not commission the company allegedly involved or anyone in Rivers State to print electoral materials for it".
